Know the family
welcoming your camper.
North Florida Fishing Camp is a local, family-run business led by Joe and Katie Carraway.
We’re educators and U.S. Coast Guard licensed captains, and Jacksonville is home. When you’re considering a camp stay, we want you to get to know the people behind it.
Campers fly in to join us every year. We’re used to helping out-of-town families plan the trip, and we’ll work through flight options and pickup arrangements with you before you book.
Questions about camp or the flight? Call Joe at 904-860-8361 and let’s talk it through.

A camp worth
the trip to Florida.
For a kid who would happily fish all day, camp is a chance to turn that excitement into new skills and time on the water with other young anglers.
Our overnight program welcomes ages 9–15, from beginners to kids who already love to fish. Guided charter trips put campers on the water with experienced, licensed captains. Back at camp, there’s time to get to know other kids who share the same interest.
Real fishing with charter captains
Campers get hands-on practice on guided trips, with experienced captains helping them learn on the water.
Skills that go beyond the catch
Casting, knot tying, tackle handling and learning about the marine environment give young anglers more to take away from every trip.
Other kids who get it
Sharing a boat, learning together and swapping fishing stories give campers a chance to build friendships around something they love.
Meals, lodging and fishing equipment are included. Overnight campers have a home base at Jacksonville University. Rods, reels, tackle and bait are provided, so you can focus on packing for their stay.

A little planning.
A lot to look forward to.
You don’t have to figure out the flight and pickup on your own. We’ll help you plan the arrival before you buy plane tickets.
Pickup from Jacksonville International Airport, known as JAX, is included at no additional charge. Start by confirming your camper’s session with us, then share the arrival and return flights you’re considering.
Before you book flights, contact camp. We’ll review the meeting instructions, the agreed pickup person and the travel-day contact with you. Plan the trip home at the same time, including the departure schedule and airport arrangements.
If your camper is flying without you
If your child is traveling with an airline’s booked unaccompanied-minor service, airline staff help them through the journey and escort them at arrival to the adult you have named in advance, with identification checked before handoff.
Before booking, confirm the airline’s age and flight restrictions, and coordinate the pickup person and arrival plan with camp. Requirements vary by airline; this service is not automatic for every child flying alone.
See the current American Airlines and Delta Air Lines unaccompanied-minor guidance, or check directly with your airline.

A few quick answers
before you fly.
Which airport should we use?
Fly into Jacksonville International Airport (JAX). Pickup is included at no extra charge. Contact camp to coordinate the details before booking your flights.
When should we book flights?
After you’ve spoken with Joe and Katie about your camper’s session and travel plans. We welcome campers flying in every year. Share both arrival and return flight options so we can work through the arrangements with you before you buy tickets.
What if my child is flying without a parent?
If you book an eligible airline unaccompanied-minor service, airline staff assist your child and hand them over to the adult you named in advance after checking identification. Age limits, flight restrictions and service requirements vary by airline. Confirm the service with your airline, then agree on the pickup person and travel plan with camp before booking.
Should we pack rods and reels?
Fishing equipment is provided, including rods, reels, tackle and bait. Ask camp for the current packing list for the overnight stay.
What about the return trip to the airport?
Discuss the end-of-camp arrangements before booking a return flight. Confirm the departure schedule and how your camper will get to the airport; don’t assume those arrangements are the same as arrival pickup.
